One glance at the British Darts Organisation world ranking shows just one American player close to breaking into the top 50 and his name is Joe Chaney. Born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Chaney is looking to make big strides in the BDO and propel himself up the rankings to challenge the best in the business.
Chaney is the number one player coming out of the United States and is ranked above his closest domestic rivals. Chaney is not inexperienced when it comes to winning trophies and he has several in the cabinet. The Portland City Open, Cleveland Darts Extravaganza, Las Vegas Open and Chicago Open are just some of the big domestic event Chaney has won during his career.
While Chaney continues to dominate the United States darts scene, he has also been making inroads on the international circuit. He qualified for the 2018 BDO World Darts Championship having come through the Regional Table Qualifiers and faced a tough preliminary round. Hopefully this was the first of many appearances on the world’s biggest stage for Chaney and there is more to come in terms of the World Championship.
Aside from the World Championship, Chaney has played in the World Masters, World Cup Singles, World Trophy and Americas Cup Singles. Each of these events were played between 2016 and 2018, a sign Chaney is on the up in the BDO.
You are sure to be hearing ‘The Chainsaw’ blasting out at BDO events in the future as Chaney continues to climb the world rankings.
